Trim trouble

Just a little info for anyone with a Mercruiser 180hp. We went out on the weekend & the tirm stopped working when fully down while we were on the water. This is after just 10 hours. Rang our dealer & checked all electrics with no luck. :confused:Ended up pulling apart rams & tying off leg to get Mariah home. Took it to a dealer today & was told the trim pump is stuffed, but hey **** happens. Not impressed but hopefully we will be back on the water this weekend.:wink_thumbup:

So when you say the trim pump was stuffed, you're saying it has to be replaced or it just got clogged with something? Either one, pretty surprising, especially with only 10 hours on the boat.

Pump has to be replaced. New pump should be at repairers in 2 days.

Wow, hopefully that will be a warranty job...

Hope it gets fixed quickly, your summer is drawing to a close isn't it?

Just kidding. I'm jealous. It's -10C here today. Our winter doesn't want to end. :(

It is a warranty job. Got a call from the repairers today & they have the new pump in. They are going to replace it on Friday & we should be back on the water on Saturday. Apparentely we have had the wettest & coldest Summer in 50 years but looking good for a fine weekend, then again you never can tell the weather in Sydney has been unpredictale this Summer. Current forcast is 30C. :punch_out:
