04 sx19

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the whole Mariah scene... and I guess I'm looking at this boat, and I thought to myself what better place to ask for reviews but from the people that has em'

I was just wondering what you guys tell me about an 04 Mariah SX19? are they any good? reliability wise? and performance wise? or should I stay away from these models?

I saw a few folks got headrest issues and what not? what's that all about?

Any feed back would help!

Thanks!:wink_thumbup:

Well, I think what's really important is if the previous owner took good care of the boat. Was it garaged or at least covered? Not left out in the weather with water sitting in the bilge? stored out of the sun to avoid vinyl damage? Trailer tires, wheel bearings serviced regularly? Engine oil, impeller changed? I like looking at a boat at the owners home. If they keep their yard neat, their house well maintained, and have well maintained vehicles, then you can bet that they take care of their boat, too. If everything they have looks thrashed and trashed, then I'd avoid buying their boat. No matter what the boat is, Mariah, sea ray, Larson, Glastron, Maxum, Chaparral, Cobalt, Bayliner, etc, they're all going to be either mercrusier or Volvo powered......and both of those use GM engine blocks.....So don't get hung up on any one brand. Good luck & have fun with your shopping!

Re: 04 sx19

I have owned an 05 sx18, and now have an 06 sx21. Both have been great boats, and i purchased used. I got the sx18 from a Mariah Dealer, and the sx21 from my friend. As stated in the other post, just check it out really good. There is nothing wrong with these boats, I have the rotting head rest and that is just a build issue Sea Fox had. It is an easy fix. If you read through the forums, you will see that the original Mariahs were built better in many aspects. It really depends on if you want to buy a boat that is lake ready now, or get a classic and maybe have to put a little elbow grease in it. Kind of like buying a 69 camaro or a 2009 camaro. Hope this helps.
