08 sx 18 - lights!!

Yet another question about strange things happening after de-winterization.

I brought the boat over to a BoatUS guy for a safety inspection and found out that niether my bow lights nor my stern light work anymore. I don't have the owners manual and I'm guessing it might be a fuse but I can't even find the dang fuse box! Any help what so ever would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: 08 sx 18 - lights!!

I dont know much about the new Mariahs but most of the time when lights stop working it revolves around a poor or corroded electrical connection. You might be best to pull the connections at both the light & the switch, clean them up a bit & re-connect to see if that fixes the problem.

The owners manual for boats is not like a car owners manual. It provides very little information specific to your boat and is more of a generic boating manual. I dont think we have a wiring diagram for the new Mariahs but i'll have a look around & post back. As for the 'fuse box', most boats have their electrical junction boxes underneath the dash area but hopefully someone here with a new Mariah will chime in.

The automated fuse of the lights is below the switch. I agree with MikeyT, probably be just bit of corrosion, be carefull though when lifting the switch-plate and not pull it up to high (or you might disconnect multiple wires), been there ;-)

Cheers,

Johan
