TOP Speed Mariah SC25 with 5.0L

What will be approximately the TOP speed boat Mariah SC25 with 5.0L MPI 260 HP, Bravo III?
Thanks.

That's quite a boat for the little V-8. The Bravo III will help with hole shots but bring a little off top end. Being MPI will help, but I'd be very surprised if it could hit anywhere near 50. I'd figure 44 to 46.

Thanks, I also think around 50 MPH.
I'll look forward to the first ride. Here in the Czech Republic is still cold, sometimes even snow:(, so Mariah is still in the garage.

Hi TomasSE, I'm going with indykoch on this one, even though you've got the MPI, I don't think the 5.0 will have the HP and torque to push your 25' Cuddy to 50mph and as for the holeshot, the Bravo 3 may actually slow it down if the motor doesn't have enough torque to deal with the additional bite the dual props provide.

Either way, mid to high 40s is still pretty fast on the water so I wouldn't worry too much about the top speed and get out there when the weather gets good and enjoy your Mariah :wink_thumbup:

I agree, I've got the Z250, which is essentially the same boat. I can just touch 50mph with the 7.4L MPI and a Bravo I (310HP). I would assume with the 5.0L MPI, and a Bravo 3, you'll probably be around mid 40's top end. That's still pretty fast on the water, and will be much easier on gas than the Big Block engines...

I have tried my Mariah SC25 on the water. It's a fantastic ride. Top speed is about 46 MPH.:)

Congrats on the new boat and first ride! I've always liked the lines of the Z250/SC25.

Hey TomasSE, glad to hear you're happy with your new Mariah and 46mph is very very respectable indeed :wink_thumbup:

Hi Thomas SE

Had over 40 on my Mariah SC23...exciting at that speed, however am impressed with the comfort, ride and particularly economy bowling along at 22mph and less than 2800 revs, often fast enough in Co Down waters!

TomasSE

Engine is a 5.0l MPI 260 Horse. Since I got it properly serviced (unlike the previous owner!) it is going really smoothly.

Only bought the boat last summer and had it in the marina for 12 weeks only it really slowed down as the season wore on and used a lot of fuel as I didnt have the hull antifouled. Did get it lifted and powerhosed during that period which improved things a bit.

Spent the winter anti fouling the boat which has helped a lot this year with speed and economy.

Today I really tuned (trim) Z-wheel drive and my Mariah went 50 mph and the sun roof. Good boat.

takes a bit of practice to get the trim just right think I have got there now boat running very well.

About to get a lift and powerwash later this week, will improve speed onto the plane.

Have you pulled water skiers with your boat? My son will be home next week so intend to try the water skis.

Yes I was pulling water skiers, wakeboard (two wakeboard), rings, banana. So far no problem.

I have an '03 Mariah SX21 with the same motor you have, I have been playing with different props.

The stock prop is an aluminum 23p top speed is 49mph, RPM 4900

5 blade stainless 19p top seed was 51mph, but I was over revving a bit due to the lower pitch.

3 blade stainless chopper prop 21p (sharp racing type prop) 57mph at 5100 rpm

5 blade put the boat on plane without any hesitation almost instant plane.

3 blade chopper was almost identical hole shot as stock prop, little sluggish out of the whole.

Sorry if this was too much of an tangent.

Thanks,
John

My Mariah 25 SC 2008-mod with the MerCruiser 350 mag is doing 48 mph with a steel prop, rpm at 5100.

Cruising at 30-34 mph.
