Temp Gauge
 

Can anyone explain why my temp gauge doesnt move while the boat is running, almost 20 mins today, then after turning off the engine and turning the key to on the temp comes up to normal then starting the boat again the temp drops right off.
New gauge fitted
New temp sensor fitted

Strange, first things that come to mind are bad sensor (replaced) bad wiring to sensor (but you do get a signal when not running) so possibly a ground issue? The part about working with key on but not working once engine is running is puzzling. Maybe the power source for the gauge is not hot when the engine is running for some weird reason?

Hopefully someone with a bit more experience will chime in, but this site has been dead lately. You should probably also post on the Facebook site too.
