New owner of 2006 Mariah 198SE
I’m located in the middle of Ireland and just purchased a Mariah and need a bunch of help starting with understanding the name and how it relates to the models on this forum. The documentation refers to it as a 2006 Mariah 198SE manufactured by Quality Boats in Pompano Beach, Florida, but I don’t see that sort of listing or that manufacturer listed here. It came with a MerCruiser 5.7 liter engine. Once I understand how the model and manufacturer relate to those listed here, I’ll have a lot more questions to answer. Thanks for any guidance you can give me.

Re: New owner of 2006 Mariah 198SE
Quality Boats Inc somehow picked up a few hulls via Sea-Fox Boats who had bought the 'Mariah' name and the molds for their smaller sized boats (ie under 24 ft) when the original Mariah Boat Inc went bankrupt in 2001. Quality Boats then finished off those hulls and sold them with the original model name branding (ie '198SE') and i believe all of the boats they produced were destined for overseas markets. Sea-Fox never used the '198SE' model name. As far as i know, we have no information on how many boats Quality produced using the Mariah name.
As far as we know, Quality Boats had no relationship with the original Mariah company and only a business relationship with Sea-Fox Boats. |

Thanks that Mike. I guess that over time, I’ll figure out how much is similar to the original 198 model.

We’re in the middle of the country on Lough Ree, (the largest lake in Ireland) just outside Athlone, on the River Shannon. I’m actually based in Villanova, PA but come over here for the summers.
