Courtesy Lights

Anybody install courtsey lights on a new Mariah? My 07 SX19 does not have them factory installed. The switch and breaker are in the dash, so I figured I would add them. I thought it might be a standard harness - but I don't see any open plugs or adapters. Also, where are the factory ones mounted?

Thanks,
Craig

Hi Plokhoyc, On my 06 SX18 my 2 courtesy lights are - one in the front bow rider section on the starboard side by the little items holder. The aft one is in the middle below the seats. I have attached a photo of the front section one for you. It looks like an easy installation though. You have already sourced the switch so going from there should be straight forward. I have a feeling some other Mariahs have the forward light in the middle of the bow under the cooler.
As far as plugs / adapters are concerned perhaps a call or email to SeaFox may answer you questions.
Seeing as how you will be putting them in from new - its your call where to put them right?
There is another thread here that went into detail regarding putting in the new LED lights - they look amazing and well worth while (draining less battery than other globes - brighter - different colour choices). That may be another option for you and the cost is negligable.

Good luck, let us know how you get on. Take some before and after photos for us.

Cheers

Thanks for the info - I will likely go the LED route - I will also email Seafox on the harness. It's not too easy to get to the back of the switch panel unless you remove the dash -

I think it was Ryan who said in another thread - Under no circumstances remove the dash!!!
There was also some mention from one of the employees of the original mariahs who said that you can gain access to the dash from the other side of the windscreen (where the back rest is for the starboard forward passenger).
The older (and wiser) Mariahs head rest could be removed to gain access more easily that way, apparently.
Good Luck

Actually, it was me that said don't remove the dash! I don't know if the new boats have changed the way the dash mounts, but on the older Mariahs, it's epoxied in, and cracks and breaks extremely easily. Basically, if it has screws on the front that you can remove, then yes, you can remove it. If not, DON'T TRY!!! Trust me.

Installed courtsey lights

Got the courtsey lights installed - I used the tripple LED's from superbrightleds.com under the left and right dash as welll as the sides. I also installed 2 waterproof LED's
under the swim platform (blue) looks cool at night.

Can you take a photo or two of your LED's under the swim platform? Curious to see how you mounted them, and how it looks at night!! :)

Next time I take it out of the water I will take some pictures. I used the SBL Luxart
LED's on the superbrightleds.com site and mounted them on an angle with some SS screws. Drilled a small hole to run the wires and sealed it with marine sealant. The frame of the LED covers the hole so no wires are exposed under the platform.

It may be tough to get a picture at night but I'll try.
