Boat cover for Mariah SX18
Hello
I need a good fitting cover for my Mariah SX18. The cover should be able to use on trailer and also if I leave the boat in the water. Can someone recommend a shop and a cover type I have an additional problem I'm from Germany and shipping should be possible on fair conditions. Last offer I get the shipping costs the same as the cover and it was just an universal cover that should fit on my Mariah. But they could not guarantee it. Perhaps someone have here experience with some covers Have a nice day Charly |
Re: Boat cover for Mariah SX18
If I were to get another cover for my boat I would probably have a custom cover made by the upholstery shop for my boat. They fit better being made for the boat as opposed to buying a cover that "fits a boat 18 feet in length". Might cost a little more but you get a better product.
Otherwise, multiple companies make covers. My current cover is a Windstorm. Made in USA- shipping might be issue? It fits good for being universal for a 28' boat. A custom cover would fit perfect. |
Re: Boat cover for Mariah SX18
Here is where I purchased for my 99 202 Shabah. The cover is very good quality, fits perfectly. I think they make a sx18 cover. There are options for material type and color. This is a "towable cover", when moored I just pull the rope tight in the back, and put up my support poles. I added (3) boatvent3 vents/pole supports to the cover. Works great for me.

Re: Boat cover for Mariah SX18
I have the 7oz custom color. It has trailer straps about every 3 feet with webbing and buckle. The aft corners, bow, and windshield areas are reinforced with a heavy vinyl tarp like material. This was all part of the 7oz custom cover. The vents I added, I do like the boatvent3 vents they have a built in pole support. When the cover was new it fit tight and if you store indoors or under cover no poles will be needed. If you don't use poles rain water will eventually pool and stretch the cover. I have two vents now. One in the bow section (open bow) one just aft of the driver seat, and I am adding one more this year as far aft as possible just in front of rear bench. Trying to keep the cover up off the sun deck. (Just had that redone due to rot and vinyl starting to tear). Last piece of advice, use 303 multi surface cleaner once a year to clean, 303 fabric guard once every 2-3 years to maintain waterproofing, and I personally use seamgrip on all seams (interior) and around the vents to permanently waterproof the seams. This stuff is amazing, even if exterior thread is damaged it will never unravel. One 8oz tube will cover if you are careful. I don't have the cover on the boat yet, but I have a few older pics I had here. One is the bow reinforcing shown, with seamgrip showing on the exterior as well. I used extra here due to the extra strain on this area. The other pic is a new one with the products I mentioned sitting on the cover. This cover is 5-6 years old now, and I expect another 4-5 out of it easily, it sits outdoors 5-6 months a year.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d91c072e8f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...41e8584703.jpg

Example of seam sealer and web strap. (Forgot that all straps have a guard to keep from rubbing on boat as well). Hope this helps you and others!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
