Bravo 3 Prop removal tool and pitch ?
Hello all
1999 258 Shabah 7.4 Bravo 3 Does anyone know if I have to purchase the bravo 3 prop tool for removal? Also..... Want to take the props off to be checked and repaired... Bought the boat last month and it's running great but my props have a couple small dings and scuffs. They're 26p , if I get new 28p props what's the average increase in speed......I'm running 50 mph now and she gets up on plane pretty fast. P.s......I'm in Miami Beach Elevation........-1. Thanks in advance |
Re: Bravo 3 Prop removal tool and pitch ?
If you are getting 50 mph out of that boat i wouldn't screw around with changing the props to 28" seeking more speed because you will only reduce your hole shot and mid range 'punch'. Maybe some of the Bravo 3 owners here will chime in but i dont think you need to buy a specific 'bravo 3' wrench just to remove the prop if you already have a proper sized socket.

Re: Bravo 3 Prop removal tool and pitch ?
You don't need a dedicated prop wrench to get the outer prop nut off, it is on the small side and accessible with a socket. The inner nut is very large and not nearly as accessible so you will need the tool for it. The tools are readily available and a good investment if you plan on keeping the boat. I use mine a couple of times per year.
