It seems that you are on 2 different ends of the spectrum. You can have 1... I good strong pulling/planing prop, or a good top speed prop. The ideal thing is to find one somewhere in the middle. 4 and 5 blade props plane a lot faster because of the added surface area, but you lose a little top speed. If you take a look at the "propeller education links" you can learn a lot. Mercury has a prop finder website that is a lot of help as well. Get a good WOT (wide open throttle) speed via GPS and let us know what your RPM's are.... we may be able to help you more.
