prop sizes

Hi Boaters

I just purchased a 1995 Z 220 Talari powered by a 7.4 Brovo III my question is it has 26 pitch props does anyone know if these are the right size.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi gary, hard to say with all the different gear ratios and such.

The best way to check if you have the right pitch props is to make sure your props are in good condition, as any dings or dents can affect the props performance then get out on the water and run the throttle all the way up while watching the RPMs.

If you're propped correctly, your 7.4L should be running between 4200 to 4600 RPMs at WOT (wide open throttle).

If you find that you're able to exceed 4600 RPM, do so only for a very short time as over revving can create quite a mess in the engine bay :eek_animated:.

If you're above or below this range, let us know what the RPMs are and we can advise you on which pitch to run for the type of boating you do.
