23 pitch mirage plus?
 

hey guys i have a 95 z235 davanti 454 7.4 litre i have a mirage plus on the boat which puts my wot right at 4800 rpm. just wondering if this is too high? i dont wanna cause any damage i just have the top end of the engine rebuilt. it sounds like its not too much rpm but i would just like some input on this thanks guys

I don't know what the RPM limit range is on that particular motor - look on top of the cover for the flame arrestor. There should be a max RPM range printed on it. You should have a rev limiter that will prevent any damage, but I understand your reluctance. a 23 pitch prop is quite large, I couldn't imagine going much more without drastically hurting your hole shot.
