I have noticed in several threads guys mentioning not to go at WOT for long periods.
Now, what would you in your infinate wisdom, consider a long period?
Not a Canadian winter I hope! Or an Australian Summer (pretty much equates to the same).
I sometimes hit it at WOT for say 5 - 10 minutes, I keep a good eye on the RPM's and temp when I do it though. Its just so damn hard to keep this boat going slow :wink_thumbup:

I had read somewhere that running at WOT (once engine was run in) for an hour or so was considered 'extended running'. I dont know that there is anything specific though.

Whoa, an hour at WOT!! I would have to pull in for fuel every hour!
Surely this wouldnt be good for the motor and outdrive.
Besides our river isnt long enough for me to go WOT for an hour unfortunately.
Thanks for the info Mike. :wink_thumbup:

I know, an hour seems like a long time to run at WOT. Personally i wouldn't do it for more than a few minutes, not only cuz of the ridiculous cost of gas but mostly for the uneccesary stress being placed on the engine & outdrive.
