I'm getting ready to send my first one off to college! :eek_animated:

Besides, my brother and I are both pushing 50 and we need all of the help we can get for those slalom deep water starts! :wink_thumbup:

Props

Check out this site. www.hillmarine.com/MercruiserAlphaProps.html Their site not only answers a lot of questions on how to pick your prop but their prices are better than most. I have purchased a number of custom props from them and the quality is excellent. Generally they say if going from a 3 blade to a 4 the pitch should stay the same. If going to a 5 blade you may want to drop 1 degree of pitch. I have used their 5 blades and have been very satisfied

Since I've added the Smart Tabs (best money I ever spent), I had toyed with the idea of going to a 21 inch pitch, but didn't want to buy another prop.

I had a 21" P - 3 blade alum. prop on mine & switched to a 20" - 4 blade SS. The 21" gave me a higher top end but at the expense of a slow start & a bit of difficulty getting out of the hole with an adult skiier/wakeboarder behind. That 4 blade also seems to give me a little more jump in mid-range also. Dropping to the 19" - 3 blade would have done the job too though.
