What are my prop options??
Hello, father in law gifted us his 1997 Mariah 12 seater with the 5.7 liter Mercruiser. It currently has twin stainless steel props but a friend was driving and totally bent one of the fins. It’s not repairable according to the propeller shop.
Another friend mentioned getting a spacer and just running one aluminum prop and only Putting the Stainless ones on when you’re in a deep lake that you’re familiar with. Most of our boating is on the Columbia river and since I’m new to boating, using a cheaper prop sounds like a good idea. I KNOW NOTHING, anyone have any suggestions of where and what to order online. I guess I’ll just stick with the 26 pitch which is what’s on there currently. Outer most prop has the following markings: “MERCURY MARINE 48-823668 A6 26P”. This one is in perfect condition. The inner most prop is the damaged one and has markings “MERCURY MARINE 48-823667 A6 26P” They also have Bravo Three written on them. Suggestions? |
Re: What are my prop options??
Stick with what you have and dont screw around with the engineering design of the Bravo prop system despite what any well-meaning friends suggest.
I would also suggest reading the STICKYS at the top of the Prop Forum. |
