Captain's Call Exhaust

So, I've finally gotten around to installing Captain's Call Exhaust.

I bought the diverters and solenoids off Ebay for $500, 20* pitch flat tips with flaps from Corsa for $300, a 4' section of 4" stainless steel exhaust pipe from Summit Racing for $100, 4' of 4" wet exhaust hose from the local marina for $100, and am having it all custom fabricated for the right lengths and turns for $150.

Now it just needs to be installed.

Drilling the holes and getting everything installed won't be an issue, but I'm thinking that wiring may be. I know that Captain's Call was a factory option for the Z272, so I'm hoping that the relay and fuse block wiring are in place - but I can't find anything on the forum's schematics that tell me that.

Does anyone know if the wiring and relay is already in place?

I'm going to use my second dash accessory switch, which is where the factory option exhaust switch would be, but I would like to find an actual original switch plate that says 'Exhaust' on it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Captain's Call Exhaust

I doubt the relay is there, mine has a relay and a couple overloads of some sort mounted back near the corsa system. You can have a new nameplate made up probably from an electrician shop, may times they have the right equipment for making these type plates for the front panels of their electrical systems.

My exhaust switch is also lit RED when activated, this is a very good feature of the switch you choose to use, since if you leave this activated very long without the engine running----no battery left...

If you want I could get some more info on that relay and such, although since mine is a 94 and not sure it is the same as what you have here.

I bet your excited though, gonna be awesome!

Yes, any help on how your system is wired would be greatly appreciated.

I can't wait to hook it up - should be ready for the water this coming Friday.

Well, Im not going to be able to give you complete info. Here is a picture though of the right side actuator and the relays I was talking about. Although after looking at the wires, I do not thing the relays are for this actuator, and I do not know what they are for. The wires are collected together into the harness that travels behind the engine, and goes probably up to the breaker panel. There are 2 red wires as you can see on the right side actuator and one red wire on the left.

Sorry i do not have the time to truly investigate the whole wiring, maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks for your help - I think I'm going to wire it completely independent of the main system other than using a switch from the dash. I'll let you know how it turns out - thanks again.
