Feeling overwhelmed....Console Project
2 Attachment(s)
I have spent the winter researching the console projects on here and how to rebuild mine. I just got my new boat (96 Shabah 200 purchased in October 2010) out of storage and finally seen the task ahead of me. I am feeling somewhat overwhelmed by what I saw. It appears the previous owner attempted to install a new radio and amplifier when he broke the console. I have noticed that he has bypassed the kill switch on console. I know there is a wiring diagram on here from a 1995 Shabah. I would like to get everyone's input on the project. Where do I begin? Am I in over my head?
Thanks in advance. Attachment 2964 |
Re: Feeling overwhelmed....Console Project
Only you will know if you are in over your head... There are a few members here that are really good with the electronics stuff & if i remember right the wiring colours remained the same thru the original Mariah years. Once you get the power & ground wires sorted out then figuring out the speaker wires shouldn't be too difficult, maybe just time consuming. They were all labeled when they came from the factory.
Fixing the console (if its broken) though might be another matter. That can be a difficult repair... |
Re: Feeling overwhelmed....Console Project
I have found the wiring diagram posted on here for a four switch console however mine does not have any switches. I was wondering where I could find a more detailed wiring schematic of the console and gauges.

Re: Feeling overwhelmed....Console Project
Thanks for the input. I think I now have the wiring figured out to a certain degree. I will post pictures when the project is complete.

Here are some of the console photos you asked about for a 96 Shabah 200
Hope they help with the project. |
