Winter "To Do" List
Thought maybe we should compile "to do" lists we all have over the winter. Maybe we can gain some experience from others that have already done it or remind others they should do it. Get your lists together and lets compare!! I don't want any laughing from you Southern Hemisphere-ians or pictures of you actually enjoying your boats (unless of course there are women).
Let's hope the bank account can withstand it, and the wife can go 3 months without seeing me... |
hmmm...
Replace battery Re-upholster both rear jump seats Repair a couple of minor gel coat nicks Remove interior & replace carpet. (maybe) Find used stereo console out of a Z model?? (fat chance) Get my boaters licence (becomes mandatory here in 2009) Install a couple of docking lights. Buy a 2nd prop (4 blade, 20p) Completely clean the interior. Find a used front bucket seat to replace my fold down unit. (again, fat chance) Find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (to pay for the above)..... |
Already winterized.
New Prop. Smart tabs. Rebuild Carb. Replace tire due to flat on last trip of the season. Replace power outlet (lighter plug) That's about it. Not too bad. Mikeyt what docking lights are you going with? |
I was looking at 2 different units. The Barnegat mini docking lights at Overtons ($164) come with a 55w Halogen light. The Aqua-Signal lights at West Marine come with a 35w Halogen light at $185. It's a little less amp draw with the Aqua Signals but i like the idea of more light for less money with the Barnegats. I know the Aqua-Signals make it easy to change the bulb so i need to have a look at the Barnegats to see if it's easy with them also. If so, the Barnegat's will be the best option for me.

.
I have an extensive list of projects for my boat and I am using as much info from this site as I can find I have to fix the docking lights on the bow-previous owner managed to jam the cover down and strip the shaft on the motor-not a biggie but I like everything to work. I have to trouble shoot my drivers seat- the motor functions when I hook up 12 volts directly but the switch on the dash is not doing anything The same can be said for the electric screw jack to lift the engine cover( I cannot understand why they made the cover so heavy- its got to weigh 250 pounds I also want to refinish the teak locker covers-I should have brought them home when we hauled out at the marina- but it gives me a reason to go see my baby in the dead of winter. Boat show in Toronto on this weekend- can't wait to smell the fibreglass I will post a picture soon- its this technology thing-I still get a thrill when I am able to actually download pictures from my camera so be patient with me -I will figure it out soon Mark Anderson |
Shabah Z250,
When I replaced my depth-sounder two yr ago FARIA sent one free! The sender transducer worked fine. You might call them 1-800-473-2742. I also had Auto trim design cut me a new Indy graphics package (It was still in their computer) they must cut both sides at one time. It was $500 + $200 to have them put on (a guy who does Crownline in Benton. IL did it for me). For $75 I got the matching trailer graphics also (it needs repainted). My list is: Put in a inverter Repack trailer bearings Repaint trailer and replace graphics Re-upholster rear seat Pay off gas credit card! |

He also had some old original Mariah decals he sold me. You might send him a message and see if he still has the chair. His email was [email protected]. He was prompt in sending the decals so it might be worth a shot. Let me know what you find out. Kitto |
