Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

Does it cone with a remote(wired or wireless)? If not, is it capable of adding one?

Thanks

Oregondunes 02-19-2013 12:31 AM

No remote, but the wired WR100 works with it.

Some things would be so much easier if I didn't hate apple products so much. :)

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

break down, buy a used ipod from craigslist for $50, load every song you own, steal the rest and rock on forever on your boat.

I have over 10,000 albums and over 250,000 songs. buddy of mine copied the digital library at a radio station before he left their employment. I can fill a 64gb ipod with enough music that youll never hear the same song twice in a month of boating.

This deck also supports Sirius satellite radio.

if any of you are missing some songs or an album from you collection, just PM me with your request and your email addy and if I have it, Ill email it to you. My collection goes up til 2002, and I have billboards top 100 from 1952-2002 in order.

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

My wife has an iPod shuffle?(tiny little square with belt clip) and daughter has a touch 4th gen. None of us has any music though. I'm to cheap to buy songs....I just stream slacker radio on my galaxy s3 when I want music. All the good p2p places I used to use are gone now too. OK I'm going to wipe my tears, take my ball and go home. :D

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I'm looking for a radio for our boat as well (took the original cassette player out a few years ago and replaced with an old JVC CD player). It works well.. but i've been looking at doing some mild upgrades.

Does this radio have some type of auxiliary input for us Android users?

Yes....USB in back

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I don't think my Galaxy S3 will play music though a USB - I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure it'll only work with a headphone style jack or bluetooth. Are you selling any other stereo equipment? Do you have any pictures?

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I can take pics. Did u check out the link ?

nglauer 06-06-2013 10:29 PM

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I didn't even realize that was a link lol. I just checked online to make sure I wasn't nuts - the Galaxy S3 won't stream though USB :(

I do want to buy a radio and a few speakers. I have missed out on 3 HELLUVA good deals on ebay. I missed a almost new Sony that went for $17 dollars, an awesome Kenwood setup for $200.00 that included tons of stuff, and a brand new in the box Alpine unit for $180.00. The Fusion stuff looks to be the top of the top when it comes to Marine Audio. I'd love to have it, but i'm afraid it won't work for my application. Good luck on the sell!

p.s. are you selling any other audio stuff though?

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

Or you could buy a cheap iPod on craigslist for 20 bucks and put all your music onto it and then inside this fusion deck

Or you could buy a cheap $20 IPod off of craigslist and use my fusion deck with all your music

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I would really like something with Bluetooth or an Aux. input on the front. If that did either I would gladly send you some paypal funds now.

It's funny how much technology has changed over the years. I used to work for a few different Car Audio places and installed professionally for about 10 years off and on. I quit doing anything back around 2002 and never really messed with anything since. I used to have a bunch of High end Polk, Alpine, Infinity, and Phoenix Gold stuff laying around... however I cleared house on everything about 6 months before I purchased our boat.

I do have a nice set of 6.5" Polk DB components and another really nice set of 6.5" Polk DB coaxial's that I thought about installing along with some type of small sub enclosure. However none of it is Marine grade (my boat doesn't stay in over night and is always covered before it gets to late. I just don't know how well those would hold up over time.

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

Put em in and run them til they quit.
Then you can buy marine grade components.
My first boat had Kraco.......yes Kraco speakers. They worked fine for years! :)
Polk should last as long as you own the boat , as long as they don't get soaked.:(
Saltwater use is a whole nuther story.

Sorry to HiJack this thread.. I would love to have the Fusion player - just have to think it over since i'm Anti-Apple and have everything Droid based lol.

How old is the player and sat. radio Oregon? Does it have a remote? I'm still pondering it over in my head, but if someone else is interested sell sell sell lol. Don't let me hold you up. I'm really tight - well.. actually poor, but tight sounds much better bwahahaha

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I bought the 500 head unit just last year during the winter. I think there is a thread here when I installed it. Loved it so much I just had to buy the latest greatest this past fall with all the new bells and whistles.

Satellite I purchased just last spring. Had it hooked up to service just for the summer. Never used the service (ok...2 or 3 times). When Im in town, radio works perfect, but when out of town, 4000 songs on my Ipod is all I need and theres never a clarity issue with the ipod.

I dont have a wired remote. Didnt need it in mine, as Im the captain, so it's my choice what your gonna listen to. However, look for the MS-WR100 (no others will work)

Your car audio gear will work just fine. Just wont last as long as Marine grade.

If you have a Droid I'm pretty sure you can hook up to an iPod via Hotspot an stream music. I'm going to try that this weekend...

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

I was mistaken. There is NO USB on this model, nor blue tooth. Fusion offers a separate CD stand alone player or the internal apple dock

Re: Fusion MS-IP500 head unit

Oh OK. Im following you now. Ya, you can use foxfi or something similar as a hotspot for the iPod. We do that all the time with my phone and kids devices. One thing I forgot, android has USB tethering native, so you can just use it that way too if you can have the two things close enough. It doesn't eat the battery nearly as fast as wireless tethering either. Edit...I forgot...you'll have the iPod docked so wi-fi tether is your only choice. :banghead:

snapped some pics of the unti the other day and forgot all about posting em up here. Now that most are ending their season and thinking of upgrades or changes to make over the winter, now is a great time to think of audio upgrade.

Still $200 shipped to lower 48.
