Strereo console removal
Probably not the right place to ask this, but I'm new to this forum stuff so forgive me! Lol. Anyways, I say a post on calibrating the air/ sea temp readout on my shabah but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the stereo console to access the back of it. I removed all the screws and it came loose on the bottom but still seems attached at the top and I don't want to break it. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and it's a 1997 Z210 shabah. Thanks

Re: Strereo console removal
Does any one have a idea as to why I'm having trouble removing the bezel?? I'll even be happy being scolded and directed to a "sticky". Lol. Just want to fix my temp gauges and might look into upgrading the stereo this winter if I can get into the darn thing without breaking it! Thanks again

What's it look like? If it's similar to mine I can help.

Re: Strereo console removal
I'll log in later and send u a pic of it. Idk how to do that using this phone app. Hopefully it's like yours and u can help me cause it sure seems attached at the top, even after removing all the screws and I DEFINATLY don't want to break it

Was it the light holding everything up?

Re: Strereo console removal
I haven't figured out how to get my stereo bezel out, I was just proud of myself cause I figured out how to upload a picture using the app! Lol.

Re: Strereo console removal
The bottom of it does come loose when I removed the screws, but it seems attached at the top still.

Re: Strereo console removal
With mine I had to take the light out and there are 2 screws holding it on. Then the bezel and the white surround will all come out. For some reason I don't think you can just take the woodgrained piece by itself from the front side.

Same on mine, had to take of the lens from the light and there was a screw holding the top in place. |
Re: Strereo console removal
Yep, you guys were right, and idk why I didn't think to look there but I Popped the lens off the courtesy light and bam, there were more screws! Thanks again for helping me not break something. Got my sea air temp readout recalibrated.

That's what I love about this place. It's not just the big stuff, it's the little things. :wink_thumbup:

Re: Strereo console removal
quick question do you have the captains call? and if so can you take a pic of the back of the back of the ccall switch.
If you can call me (405) 388-5757 Thanks Jeremy Duskin |
Re: Strereo console removal
http://clintpaul.com/ebay/004.jpg Try this. This was an image I took of my console wiring a while back. My captains call is the center switch and the one with 2 large gauge red wires and the small black wire.
