Anyone else having trouble removing fuel separator?

I have tried everything to remove the filter. Does it tighten the opposite direction or something? Not sure how to get it free. Not sure but is my next step to remove the remote plate of the block and take it to the vise to remove the filter?

I had the same issue on my Z280. Didn't change the filter the first year, because I couldn't get it off. Started running awful at the end of the season, and I decided I was on a mission to fix it. I don't know about yours, but mine is damn near impossible to reach (at the bottom of the engine block, directly next to the motor mount), so it involves laying over the top of the engine block and some clever hand contortion skills.

Finally got it off with one of these, a "Jaw-Type Oil Filter Wrench". Picked up at Walmart for $3. Best $3 I ever spent!

I use an "old school" oil filter wrench and a long 3/8" extension bar on a rachet. I'm getting too old to be contorting too much. When you put the new filter on, put a little clean engine oil on the rubber gasket....it will help get it off easier next year.
