Default aluminum tubing swim platform?

So my gears have been turning all winter on how I'm going to integrate a swim platform onto my Shabah Z210 with captains call. First thought, cap the existing exhaust tips from the inside and relocate to side exit exhaust.. Ehh, dumb idea + cutting more holes in the boat. Second idea: I have many friends with the big twin blown big block chevy motor boats burning more fuel in a day then I do all season, and what they did has have a machine shop custom build one out of aluminum tubing the mount to rear of boat just below exhaust pipes. Actually looks really cool. Has anyone ever seen a Mariah with the tubing swim platform and not fiberglass?

Thank you in advance!
John

    You mean something like this?

To be honest, no. Those aluminum ones are more for Baja, Fountain and Cigarette style (go-fast) boats... I've gone through thousands and thousands of pictures of Mariahs since we started this site, and have only seen fiberglass platforms (and one teak style).

Why not just go with a fiberglass one? They're custom made to fit the boat and look great. I can imagine one bad run-in with the dock could ruin an aluminum platform...

Thanks for the pictures guys! I just might have to be different, and get the creative gears rotating. I like the fiberglass look, but how would they color match the red? If i did the metal, i could get it sprayed with Line-X which would kinda tie in the black tower and windows.

Gel coat matches look pretty good. I'm sure there are a lot of other photos out there too

I used those folks for mine--sent them the ladder door to match the color.
Perfect match--Kelly at swim platform superstore was great to work with--
I would not hesitate to use them again.

Some cool ideas from Waves and Wheels of what you could do with fiberglass.

Great Idea's! I love the fiberglass speaker pods. Really appreciate the help from everyone. I'll keep everyone up to date on what I decide and post pictures of the process.

That is a pretty cool swim platform but I hope those speakers are extremely water resistant lol

    Default aluminum tubing swim platform?

    Well gentleman,
I made the move and decided on the aluminum tubing swim platform. Should be a first for a Mariah to my knowledge. A local race car/ mud truck fabricator is doing the build using 1-3/4 aluminum tubing, then power coating gloss black. Pictures to come ASAP!
