This cant last much longer can it? I need help only sunny and 70 degrees can cure. Any body having the same problem?

YES... :slide_beer: I'm about ready for some boating weather!!
|
This has been the longest winter of my life... Good news is the grass is getting green, it's warming up outside and... I just made Memorial Day plans!
|
^ x elevnty-billion. I've had my May Two-Four plans since last October.
Took the dog for a walk tonight, and with the melting I def needed the rubber boots. +13 here tomorrow Whoo-Hooo!! |
Tomorrow is going to be +12 and rain ! :wink_thumbup:
(.. or about say 54F for you american folk :D) The snow is starting to go down, but it will be another few days to a week before that happens. The right arm is gettin twitchy ! |

1) goto cottage 2) clean up cottage 3) fix cottage 4) drink beer and get drunk 5) fix boathouse 7) drink beer 8) go home. When I was younger it was more about partying. Now it is more about cleaning it up and repairing what needs it etc. Plus the last few may 2-4 weekends have been kinda miserable. :( |
Yeah, sharing my spot with 3 sisters you know where I'm at.
Cottage needs a new roof this season. I think I'll be able to trade some beer and boating to get some help with that one... :wink_thumbup: |
Hey whatever works in your favour!
We had the roof redone on our cottage a few years ago. Still holding up strong. Needs new electrical, plumping, raising, septic, windows, exterior clean. Did i miss anything? Sometimes I keep an eye out for my customers @ work. If anyone works for something we need help with. I'll give them a break on pricing of the part. (I work for a gm dealership) |

A couple of retired dentists built a 2k+ square foot "summer" home 2 doors down from us. Our place is no bigger than their boathouse... :eek_animated: |
It was about 55 here today and has been raining for a couple of weeks. We have been on the news for the flooding. I live about 80 miles south of St. Louis. Lakes are up though. Im ready for some JB and beer.

I am so sick of this winter weather. :( I'm hearing a high of 15c (about 59f) for Tuesday here then back down to 2c for Wed. Hopefully this rain they're talking about will wash away some of that snow but i wont hold my breath.
We share a family cottage on an island up by Pointe au Baril on G-Bay. I dont expect i will get up there until August this year though as my wife has suddenly come down seriously ill (read paralyzed from the waist down) so getting her mobile again is my first priority. It's looking like a non-boating spring for me right now.....but that'll mean i can get at the boat work i had planned for this year before i get it back on the water! |
Sorry to here about your wife. Hope she get well soon.
I don't know how ya'll make it through winter up there. We only have about 4 or 5 non boating months here. I have a hard time with that. |
She will recover but it may take a few months. As for winter....uggh. We shut down boating usually by the mid to end of September and the earliest i've had it back in the water is mid-May up here. If ya try & go out with it during the winter months, the polar bears up here mistake you for a seal.....;)

Last year I didnt want to put the boat away, but then when I called up the marina where I store my boat ... " the sooner the better " .... (umm no its not.. hehe). Dont think about fall storage already tho. Be positive! The snow will melt and eventually you will be on the water! |
Sorry to hear about Terri. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery. I'm well aware of the impact sudden illness has on your lives, hope everything goes well for you and yours.
It was nice just to don a spring jacket this morning. Hell, if it wasn't pouring rain on my commute, I'd have probably opened the sunroof on the Jeep! |
Hello Mike,
Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she recovers soon. Kind regards, Johan |
Really sorry to hear about the Missus mate, I will send you both a bottle of sunshine to cheer you up.
All the best to Terri and wishing her a speedy recovery, from both Leanne and I. :beach: |
Thanks everyone. She is a fighter and the doc says she has come much farther than he expected in such a short period of time. She's having to learn how to walk again right now & it's a little painful to watch but she is determined to be able to get into the boat & go to the cottage this summer and it wouldn't surprise me if she manages it. I will let her know everyone is thinking of her. :wink_thumbup:

Nice. That should put a dent in those remaining snow piles. :wink_thumbup:
I need to change all the driveline fluids in the Jeep. At least I won't be freezing my ass off in the garage today... |
