Compartment under battery??
I am cleaning the boat. Is there supposed to be water access to the compartment hidden under the battery? I am assuming that it is to catch any spilled battery acid but I thought that is what the boxes for both the battery box and this compartment in the picture underneath the battery hold down were both full of water. I am all about protecting the environment but if the battery box will catch the battery acid is it possible to seal this compartment off so it does not hold water? It was pretty nasty in there!!! I also see if there is one underneath the trim pump and resivoir. Should it be "open" or sealed as well? As a note there was silicon around the edge but not a solid bead so it was either to absorb vibration, to allow space for liquid to run in, or it should have been sealed but the silicone was not applied very well. As always your answers are very much appreciated!!!

Re: Compartment under battery??
I just assumed the plastic board was sort of a wear plate. I never removed mine though.
