Re: Middle of November
What a fantastic day :wink_thumbup:
Up early (I don't do early!) and hooked up the boat with dew still on the covers. Down to the Hamble to launch the boat, by this time the sun was out and it was warming up nicely :beach: A bit of faffing around as i'd forgotten to put the riser bungs back in, (did I mention I don't do early :( ) The river at Mercury looked like a sheet of glass and with predicted wave heights in the Solent of 0.2m it was looking like it was one of those classic winter boating gems :D Headed out of the Hamble just as 2 Red Jets were crossing, caught up with the outward bound one and tracked him for a few minutes before turning off down the Solent towards Wootton Creek. The sea conditions out in the Solent certainly weren't 0.2m, in fact there was some good swells out there to make things interesting :D With Calshot at my back I opened the taps a bit and made Wootton Creek in about 10 mins Paid the man at the yacht club my £5 and wandered up to the Fishbourne Inn for a hot Cappuccino. A gentle wander back down to the boat (it's a shame there isn't more in wooton?) and to the return journey. Nothing much to report about the crossing back until we got to calshot where I came across a nice tide set, a group of waves moving steadily towards Southampton. I mucked around with them for a few minutes, until I got a face full.....lol then shot back to the hamble and recovered the boat before the tide fell off as it was going to go out fast today Here's some pictures of today along with some raw footage. I'l edit together some video of the whole trip later. http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_095653.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_101248.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_101253.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_102112.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_102527.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_105846.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_110415.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_112617.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_115825.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_115829.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...116_120539.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...ichtoneHDR.jpg |
