power steering issue.
 

Can't get the power steering to work in my 92 1900z. It has an omc cobra, I replaced the hydraulic cylinder on the transom with a 2002 Volvo unit, and put in a new pump. Still steers really hard with no help at all....help!

Sounds like maybe a cable issue , or possibly a worn out bellcrank.
Disconnect steering cable and see if she turns easy. If so , reconnect and check bellcrank(steering arm) for excessive play and/or wear.
Might want to check the outer transom mounts for free play also.
Just a thought or two.

It was the cable! Can't believe after all that it was that simple a deal.
