Re: now how do explain this one.....
Two Words....
Ohio River From everything I've heard, the river levels have been way up and the amount of drift has been awful this year. When the drift's heavy, it's not unusual to see tree stumps, full trees, buckets, coolers, random metal objects, even refrigerators floating downstream. Sometimes you will only see a few inches of a submerged object as it flows with the current, but it'll do all sorts of damage. Case in point: 'Ride the Ducks' boat stranded in the Ohio River |
Re: now how do explain this one.....
the past 2 months the river has been 2 pool level for maybe 6 days. it has been horrible this year....we launch from the licking river, this river is a floating landfill this year....the first 5 minutes into our trip towards downtown cincy i hit a log @ idle speed. didnt have a choice really it was either this small log, a tire or what looked like a car axle. its was absolutely ridiculous. We went out early sunday so not alot of other boaters were out churning up things and it just rained again. ive been alot of crap in the ohio but havent seen the fridge yet. u cant throw a anchor out and not bring something up with u. just wish one day it will be something valuable! that duck boat is silly. i think people died in philadelphia a few years back when it became disabled and was struck by a barge. i stick with my mariah ...bad cavitation plate and all.
