nav lights and gauge lights not working
95 Davanti 225 305 motor. The nav lights and gauge lights will not work. The rocker for the gauge lights and the rotary switch for the nav lights wont light up at all, traced all connections and all seem intact. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for this? Would this be something wired together? I checked the wiring diagrams on the forum but it doesnt really show me what i need.

Re: nav lights and gauge lights not working
Check the fuses? Should be on the same fuse. My Shabah's fuse panel is underneath the helm, kind of difficult to locate.

Re: nav lights and gauge lights not working
You didn't say if you tested the wiring for voltage.
Above all , check for bad ground connections. Seems that is the worst gremlin the boater has. :( Do you have power to the switches? No - Check for bad fuse/breaker If so , do you have power coming out of the switches? No - Bad switch If you do , check power at nav light/gauge light itself. No - Short in wiring to light |
Re: nav lights and gauge lights not working
So when laying on your back looking up at the fuse block, the bow lights/gauge lights are the second fuse in from the right. Using a power probe, I found I had intermittant power coming out of the fuse block. I snaked my hand up there with my camera phone and took pics of each of the fuses. The fuse that ran the nav lights/gauge lights was corroded. I pulled it out and cleaned it up with a little sand paper and cleaned the fuse block connections as well and it works fine now.

Nice repair lumber!:wink_thumbup:
I swear corrosion is the worst enemy the boater ever had! From outdrives to fuses , seems to never fail. Excellent work. |
