Crack in inner hull near engine mount

I've noticed a crack in the inner hull near the forward engine mount of my Z212. The crack is approximately 6 inches long and only appears to be on the inner hull. Has anyone else had an issue with the fiberglass cracking and does anyone have repair recommendations? I've been looking at doing a repair with West Systems 105 and 206 epoxy with a fiberglass mesh.

Crack in inner hull near engine mount

I have one because a previous owner left the drain plug in over the winter. I have mesh to repair it but haven't gotten to it. Mines under the engine so it won't get any worse. I'd worry more if it were near a motor mount.

Re: Crack in inner hull near engine mount

How close to the motor mount tower is the crack? Which side is the crack on? Torque side of engine?
A good pic would help diagnose better. :)
I would pull a motor mount lag bolt and see how the wooden portion is.
Take a awl or pointed tip screwdriver and see if the wood in the hole is soft/deteriorated , or worse yet damp or wet.
Bad thought , but there is a possibility of rot causing flex.
Just a thought.
