98' Talari 24' cuddy
 

Going to go look at a 98 Talari with a buddy tomorrow. The boat has a good history to it. We have only been given very limited info on it so don't really know a whole lot so far. The owner says it has the 350 in it. I have no idea if that is a carb or TBI or mag. I also have no idea what out drive would be on it. Anyone know the common package the Talari comes with? Its the 24' cuddy.

The Volvo would be nice but I can tell its Mercruiser from the pictures. They are just poor pictures to distinguish. I tried downloading the 1998 brochure but it keeps getting stuck at 29% for some reason.

So going through the brochures I noticed the boat we are going to look at looks totally different from other 1998 boats and looks more like the 1996. I have some photos of it, maybe someone will be able to correct me if its not a 98.
the info we get from the seller is very limited. The guy has not had in out but 2 times in the past 8 years and its been parked in a garage. I'm just trying to get an idea of what the buyer might be dealing with ahead of time.

When I got my Diablo the seller was listing it as a 96 and it's a 93.

Well the joy of Craigslist people lived up to its reputation yesterday. As has happened many times before the seller had made plans to meet up and did not show. I hate when that happens- waste of time. For anyone else looking into a Mariah in Colorado this seller is a no show.

Furthermore, I spent a few hours looking for more info on the boat because the seller did not know much about it. From matching the selling description and the photos this boat is neither a 24' nor a 1998. It does however match the description of a 1996 21' Talari. I managed this by looking through the brochures.

Just by looking at the skimpy photos i would suggest a 215 or 225 from '96 but its really hard to tell. I sent him an email also asking for the hull id#. I'll post if i get a response.

On Monday I went an looked at a boat with my buddy who had the money in hand and ready to buy the Mariah from the no show. Exploring other options I called on a Crownline on Craigslist. The seller called me back and messed with me for a while. Turned out he knew me! He is one of the local mechanics at the boat shop I frequent! Small world.
The boat is in excellent mechanical condition with only 200 hrs. Interior needs work but for a 1998 that's been outside an shrink wrapped in winter it is not too bad. It needs a good once over to clean it up but should shine like new soon.
Took it out yesterday an it moves! I can't believe how it handles. Super sharp. It will do circles around my 250, given the 225 weighs a lot less. I'm looking for some more info on Crownline. Any ideas for forums? I have yet to find anything Crownline specific.
