I visited 2 of them today. Constructed from 1865/1880 they were built to keep the pesky frenchies out of Portsmouth harbour A couple of them have been converted into luxury hotels Here’s some info History of the Solent Forts | Online Information Bank | Research Collections | Royal Naval Museum at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard Category:Sea Forts in the Solent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...309_125949.jpg http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...9_131427-1.jpg |

Nice level hole shot, much less wander, in fact i barely had to rock the wheel. On my return there's a place where the river hamble joins Southampton water and the water gets quite choppy at this point, but trimmed in she just pushed through with no bucking skyward. It’s a different boat now. And I still topped 50mph on the GPS 1up with a full belly of fuel (running down tide ;)) |

Nice!! Looks like a fun weekend! :wink_thumbup:

Re: Hows the snow chaps
I have been to that base my wife is from Nantwich. We are coming back over there next year to visit her family, it's nice to know other Mariah people around when we come to Portsmouth I will look for your boat. Her uncle and cousin live there we will come there for about 4 days or so. We go every other year her grandparents are 93 and 94 years old and still live alone. We try to see them as much as possible. It is expensive though.

I know how busy family visits are, but if the weathers good and you find time I’d be happy to take you out for a spin around the Solent :wink_thumbup: I’m afraid my Diablo isn't a patch on you beautiful Z250, but Portsmouth is only 30 miles from me so I’d be happy to pick you up. (Any excuses to take the boat out ) |
Re: Hows the snow chaps
Sounds awsome I would love that. I will keep you posted on when we think we will be there. Any time on the water is great!

Re: Hows the snow chaps
Snow? Was in the 80's (F) when we took ours out this past Sunday (first time this year), and the water was 70* . Our 15 yr old kneeboarded till he got tired. Water is still too cold for me though. We need rain bad, our lake is lower than I've seen it in the 8 yrs we've been here. Had to really keep an eye on the depth finder.

Re: Hows the snow chaps
The snow is great, but its that time of the year for it to be gone so we can enjoy the now frozen lakes and rivers!
