What to look for when purchasing a Mariah
Well I finally convinced my buddy to buy a Mariah and he finally pulled the trigger. He found a very nice looking '98 202 Shabah with a tandem axle trailer. The interior looks fantastic, I think it has just been re-done and it has a brand new 350 Merc, with a two year warranty. They replaced the engine after a marina didn't winterize it properly (replaced by the marina). Things look good in the pictures but we'll be taking a trip to check it out. My question is what else should I be looking for? I'm an owner as well, but anything you all can think of that I may be missing would be greatly appreciated (so would my buddy:wink_thumbup:) Thanks in advance.

Best is to have an appraiser look at her kitto. It would be well worth the money.

A very important thing to me is to ask questions about maint schedule and if records are available. Also find out where the boat is stored when not in use. Always nice to find one that gets stored in a dry covered space.

Re: What to look for when purchasing a Mariah
I just bought a 95 220 talari, always stored in a barn. I had the local marina do a full inspection at$300. She checked out fine, but for piece of mind I had to do it!
