Shelby Trailer Weight
 

Hello All,
We bought a 2000 Mariah 182 Shabah, which is our first boat ever.
To get the trailer registered in Michigan we need a proof of the trailer weight. I would like to avoid driving to a weight station to get a weight slip. Does anyone know if the stamped information on the trailer is sufficient? It says 700 lbs tongue. It is a Shelby trailer.

Sorry but i dont know the rules in Michigan regarding trailer registration. Hopefully someone here does or perhaps you could call the registration centre & ask?

I've never heard of Shelby Trailers.... Are you sure that's the manufacturer? Can you post a pic?

A quick google search came up with Shelby Industries, who just makes accessories for trailers, like couplers, jacks, etc.

There should be a manufacturer tag/decal/placard on the trailer with the weight, tire pressure, tire size, etc. It's usually located near the tongue on the front half of the trailer.

Sounds like you are in the same boat (so to speak) up there as I am in Colorado. I have GVW stamp on trailer but they still made me get it weighed. They want to make sure they get every dime they can out of you for the plates. :(

Hi Larry,
we were lucky. We took a picture of the tongue where all the data is stamped and got the trailer registered immediately.
