Shelby Trailer Weight
Hello All,
We bought a 2000 Mariah 182 Shabah, which is our first boat ever. To get the trailer registered in Michigan we need a proof of the trailer weight. I would like to avoid driving to a weight station to get a weight slip. Does anyone know if the stamped information on the trailer is sufficient? It says 700 lbs tongue. It is a Shelby trailer. Thanks Conny |
Re: Shelby Trailer Weight
Sorry but i dont know the rules in Michigan regarding trailer registration. Hopefully someone here does or perhaps you could call the registration centre & ask?

Re: Shelby Trailer Weight
I've never heard of Shelby Trailers.... Are you sure that's the manufacturer? Can you post a pic?
A quick google search came up with Shelby Industries, who just makes accessories for trailers, like couplers, jacks, etc. There should be a manufacturer tag/decal/placard on the trailer with the weight, tire pressure, tire size, etc. It's usually located near the tongue on the front half of the trailer. |
Re: Shelby Trailer Weight
Sounds like you are in the same boat (so to speak) up there as I am in Colorado. I have GVW stamp on trailer but they still made me get it weighed. They want to make sure they get every dime they can out of you for the plates. :(

Re: Shelby Trailer Weight
Hi Larry,
we were lucky. We took a picture of the tongue where all the data is stamped and got the trailer registered immediately. Thanks to everybody for caring, Conny |
