Flag Holder

This last weekend while out on the lake I lost my flag that was mounted to the stern rail. I used it all last year with no issues but this last weekend POOF! GONE!
I have not been able to find a descent replacement so I figure I would see what most members here use to display their favorite colors.
I have looked into Perko, Taylor Made and Attwood mostly but the one I had was not from either nor am I impressed with their quality and I can not remember where I got it. It was 316 Stainless to fit 1" rail and the pole was Stainless 24" tall.

If anyone can recommend a Stainless flag pole holder and pole I would appreciate it.

I fab'd up a piece of PVC pipe with reducers on each end, just long enough to fit into my factory rod holders on either side at the stern of the boat so that you cant see it.. The reducers are 1" which just so happens to be the exact size of the wooden flag rod that came with the Stars and Strips. It is one that you would mount on your house. On a smaller boat it might be a bit large, but on our 30' it just stands out nicely. It's a 36" x 48" flag.

Thanks, I unfortunately do not have factory rod holders. If I had a flat spot on mine I would almost consider it but there is not much real estate there.

If you plan to mount the flag holder on a 1" rail do not purchase the stainless steel one from West Marine, it will not fit, leaves a gap and the flag pole is loose. I will have to take the one I Puruchased to the shop and make the hole larger to fit the 1" rail.

Re: Flag Holder

Thanks Chris. I think that was my problem. I kept looking at mine and thought the screw was too short and always planned on getting a longer one. Since it did not cause any trouble last year I kind of forgotten all about it until now. I actualy saw one at a local boat parts store yesterday but hesitated on the purchase. I liked the clamp but the pole itself was junk...
