Carling Contura Switches
1 Attachment(s)
I am looking for custom screened Contura V rocker switches. All I can find is the standard symbols and text. I have tried some local electric supply houses as well as Ebay. Anyone ever do custom screening. I need them for my LED accessories I installed. The particular one I am looking for looks like the image below. I can find them in white all day long but not in black.
Any help would be appreciated... |
Re: Carling Contura Switches
I found this on Carlings website. They also say they offer custom markings. You might need to call them directly to get what you want.

Re: Carling Contura Switches
I have called Carling because I need new actuators as mine have all lost their print. They only sell in bulk (1,000 or more). I have tried everywhere to no avail. I have been looking on the net to find a place to re-print the face of the actuators, but have not had much luck.
I would say several of us are in the same boat!:shakehead: |
Re: Carling Contura Switches
I talked with a buddy of mine today that does custom imaging/signs/engraving.etc. The process to create custom images is called "pad printing" It looks pricey, but it can be done...

Re: Carling Contura Switches
I just had all of mine done and there is a company in Florida that will screen print just one switch for you. It will take some time because they have to wait until they get enough custom orders in to do it though. But it is better than buying 1,00 switches! They are very great to deal with and have been added to our vendor list on this forum. Call Regina at 941-966-4320.

Can you say what the ball park price was per switch was? Do they also sell the switches or do you need to provide them? I need 4 of them done. |
Re: Carling Contura Switches
I think I paid like $9 per switch. Actually it is not the switch, but just the plastic rocker cover that I got. Yes, they sell the switches as well. I had all 16 of mine redone. 2 of them had to be custom printed(Power seat and Defogger). She is still waiting for enough custom orders to put mine in. But they had all the other 14 in stock and ready to go. Very nice people to deal with. They are a small shop though so if they are busy, they will have to call you back so don't be put off by that. The name of their company is R and R Yacht Service.
Hope that helps some! |

Search out a Hydro Graphics company near you.
Here is a link to HGI. They will do just one if you want them and their quick. Hydro Graphics Inc. Facebook HGI ( Hydro Graphics, Inc. ) - Local Business - Newberg, OR | Facebook |
Follow up to my earlier post....R & R is not doing the printing on the switches anymore. They can get the stock ones, but cannot custom print anymore. I talked to them yesterday and I guess they had issues with the guy that was running the printer...anyways, not sure who does the vendor list, but we should probably remove them now.

Re: Carling Contura Switches
We can custom etch Contura V switch tops (like the one in the image below), however the ones we have in stock don't have the large led that was in the original post. If you are struggling to find this particular one, then we could etch a symbol onto the switch top.
I hope this helps, and is useful to someone. http://www.axoncomponents.com/images/contura_v_top.jpg We stock quite a number of Carling switches. And can be found at Axon Components Ltd: The Marine and Automotive Electrical Specialist: From Boat Dash Panels to Breakers, Switches and Gauges Many thanks Paul. |
Re: Carling Contura Switches
I just purchased a 1999 Mariah Jubilee and it needs to have all its actuators replaced. I have spent HOURS researching this and am glad to see you found someone that can help us out. I just called them and left a message. What I am finding is the Contura IV is what Mariah used in the Jubilee and those actuators are in short supply, but the switch will accommodate other actuators like the Contura II and I believe the V and VI as well.
