V8 engine options?
 

I have a 96 Shabah 180 and just got this crazy idea and wondered if there's enough space for a V8, and if so what the options are?

V8 might fit , but..........your going to have to change drive or drive gears if you go with a V8. Add a couple more grand for the drive or the work. Not to mention it's going to really screw with the handling of the boat especially at low speeds or when cornering. There is going to be more weight on the boat which translates to less carrying capacity(as in people , and gear).
You can do a few things to your 4.3L for around 1100.00 and it will get you to the 220-230 HP rating without cutting into the longevity of the motor. That is very comparable to the 5.0 V8 , and your setup will weight less also.
Just some things to think about.
