Horn

Just wandering if anyone had suggestions on horn. We purchased our 2001 Z212 last Feb. and horn was not working. I'm wondering if it could be the horn switch. Any suggestions?

Re: Horn

When we purchased our boat, the horn was not working. I found a thread posted by SEMIJim on cleaning corrosion of the fuses and then treating them with DeOxIt (linked below). After completing the cleaning/treating process, the horn worked and we have not had a fuse problem since.

Hope that helps,

When I got mine the horn wasnt working and I ran power from several points and could not get it to work properly so I had to run a wire direct to battery.

Mine was not working until recently either. First I noticed that I was getting voltage to the horn, but I never paid attention to how much! Turns out I was only getting like 4 volts. I then noticed that one of the leads on the back of the switch was very corroded so I sniped off the wire leads and replaced them. Then I was finally getting good voltage to the switch, but the switch wasn't working. Long story short...i had a bad switch and bad wire connectors on the back of the switch.
