Weight of Boat

Hello everyone,

I am considering purchasing a new vehicle to tow the boat. I purchased a 1997 211 SE Talari but I am not sure of the weight of the boat and trailer . I am currently in a Nissan lease and would like to stick with Nissan. When I purchased the boat I was using my dads truck (chevrolet silverado) to pull the boat. Now that the lease is almost up on my car, I would like to get something so I can tow the boat and not have to borrow a truck. I am considering the Nissan Xterra but the max towing capacity on that is 5,000 lbs. Does anyone know the weight of the boat and trailer?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: Weight of Boat

The boat weighs in at (approx) 3000lbs plus the weight of the trailer (i'm guessing 800-1000lbs?) so once the boat has a few accessories loaded into it along with a full tank of gas (53 gals weighs about 330lbs) you will be getting very close to the limits of that Nissan Xterra. Pulling it wont be the issue but stopping that rig might be.

The Nissan Ttan truck would do great. My neighbor works for Nissan, Has a Titan, and pulls anything he wants..... Big Tournament Bass boat, Bumper pull Camper, etc. I use my '99 Silverado Z71 with a5.3 and have no trouble pulling my '97 210 Shabah LE. Hope this helps.

No question that the Titan is capable but the OP was considering an Xterra which i'm not so sure of...

I agree about the xterra.... but he said he wanted to stay with Nissan..... so, just my 2 cents worth.
