cutting board and rhino floor???
hello all!!!
i came across a bizarre but interesting way to refloor the old 2150 xlc. A place in lima ohio makes plastic cutting boards. like what u would use in the kitchen. however they can make them to size for a fee, about what u would pay for 2 sheets of 3/4 marine plywood. u can lay this as the flooring attaching to the stringers with screws/glue. now once the floor is set and done instead of carpet have the plastic sprayed with a white spray in truck bedliner, which is only 60 dollars more then high end carpet. i have a spray bed liner in my truck and the stuff is indestructible . plastic floor plus white bedline seems to equal forever floor. please tell me this sounds good or it sounds goofy. eric |
Re: cutting board and rhino floor???
Well it sounds goofy,,,, but it also sounds like a great idea. It would not be slippery, and it would be easy to clean up, and I can see why you would like it. I like my carpet, but I do wish I could remove it and clean up. You could install snap in carpeting in specific areas and I think it would be great.
Let us know if you decide to do it. |
Re: cutting board and rhino floor???
One possible concern would be how rough the texture may be.
I don't know that I would want to be barefoot in a boat all day if the texture is like it is some bedliners I've seen. One of my buddy's bedliners tore up my golf bag after one trip. |
