Since my post I have done quite a few things. Over the winter I pulled the motor and did a complete rebuild with Vortex heads and a roller factory style cam. the pistons I went to speedpro Hypereutectic at 9 1/2 compression. The intake is a aluminum intake made by Jegs for vortex heads. I installed a upgrade petronix ignition and coil with 9mm plug wires. The carb is a 650 Edelbrock marine and a carter electric marine fuel pump. I am still breaking the motor in and have not had it all out yet. Cruising at 4000 RPMS I am currently doing 49.6 mph. In a few weeks I will be able to do the full 5000 RPMs and should run close to 60mph. My other motor you talked about did a best of 54mph with 2 people. I have the same prop which pulls hard out of the hole and good top end. Its a SS 14 1/2 x 19 prop works very well.

What make and model prop was it that you have

I'm sorry the prop is a 15/21 prop, not the 14 1/2 19. The prop is a yamaha Salt series. I have been using this for a while now

1995 Shabah 212 with a 350 Mercruiser, On a fairly smooth day we top out around 46. Not sure on the prop though.

I ended up buying a 21 pitch laser 2 and the boat now does 50 at 4800 before it would only do 45 at 5100 with a black max 14x19
