Fuel coming out cap

I parked the boat in the garage a couple of months ago with about 3/4 tank of gas. It has been getting warm. This morning I noticed fuel all over the back step. It was slowly coming out of the fuel cap. I opened the cap and the fuel was at the top. I syponed some fuel out. The boat has been parked in a moderate nose-high position. I believe there is feul in the breather line. I turned on the power and noticed the fuel guage (it works) reports 3/4. How could fuel work its way up the fuel filler line? Colg? Air Pocket?? Expansion??? Please help.:confused1:

Are you sure your gauge is accurate? Its certainly going to expand from the colder temps when you pumped the gas in. Mine had some come out the breather tube when it warmed.

Re: Fuel coming out cap

Ok, I first filled the boat to the gills (topped off in the fill line). I then ran the boat for about 15 minutes on the wter until I had some mechanical problems with the out drive (previously discussed in another thread). The boat went in for maintenance. After the repairs, we took it out for about 15 minutes for a test run at high power settings. I then parked the boat in the garage with the nose up a bit.
I am still trying to figure out where this fuel came from. Additionally, I blew a little bit of air in the vent line. It had fuel in it. Fuel then squirted back out.
I will try lowering the nose all the wayto tyry to maybe "burp the system."
Any thoughts will be appreciated. Still baffled.:confused1:
