Re: Mariah History Question
1989 was the official "start" of Mariah Boats Inc. They closed in May of 2001, the factory and assets were auctioned off, and hull molds were sold to Sea Fox and Challenger Offshore boats. Sea Fox got all the patents, trademarks and began Mariah Boat Company, (called Sea Fox Mariah or "New Mariah" around our forum). They redesigned the interiors and some other features, and have been selling them since 2003. Challenger Offshore got the larger molds, from 25ft up, and used them for their FPS (family performance series) boats. They went out of business in 2009 I believe.
Unfortunately we have very limited materials from the original Mariah days, so a dealer list, especially one from 1991 might be a little difficult to come by. It wouldn't do you much good these days anyway, all warranty claims after the original MBI went out of business were no longer honored. That's why we created this forum, as a place for Mariah Owners to talk about our boats, offer help to each other, and to show off our awesome boats! We're like a huge family, almost 5000 members, and we're all here to help. So if you've got any questions, just ask!
