I bought my first boat today. It is a 1995 Mariah Talari. I am very excited to get it out in the water and look forward to asking questions on this site. Thanks

Re: New Member
How do I upload pics from my computer????
|
Re: New Member
Pictures have to be small, 640x480 max.
1. Click Go Advanced, down at the bottom of the thread 2. On the new page, above the text box, there'll be a paper clip - Click that 3. Select Choose File, from the dialog box that opens The rest is pretty straight forward but just speak up if you have any questions. |
Re: New Member

I'm not but others are. Have a look at our Member Map and while there, take a moment to 'pin' yourself.

Re: New Member
Thats a beautiful ride, very much like my 94 shabah. You are priviledged to have this as your first boat. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Re: New Member
Thanks ZachAttack. I searched for a long time to find a boat that year in that good of shape.

Jay,
We will run the IL river alot and also take it out on Lake Mich. Usually we go to the Ozarks once a season. |
Re: New Member
I'm going to try to get out on Lake Michigan this season. Three months to go!

Re: New Member
Welcome to the Club. Have fun with your new purchase.

Re: New Member
The lake is a lot of fun as long as conditions are right. I love coming up the chicago River and locking through. We go to New Buffalo and go boating and that is real nice also

Re: New Member
Congrats on your "new" Mariah adk2300!
Boating on the Great Lakes is awesome, just make sure you're prepared. The weather patterns can shift insanely quick. Make sure you've got charts, a VHF, and if possible, a GPS (and obviously all your coast guard equipment!) I had a brochure once on how to read weather patterns using the sky, cloud formations, and wind direction, if I can find it, I'll try and scan it and upload for everyone! In the meantime, feel free to browse around the board and if you've got any questions feel free to ask! :wink_thumbup: |

Re: New Member
Your boat is the boat of my dreams. If only I had a bigger garage!
I have one winter project for you. Takes about 10 minutes. Go to Walmart and buy some black elastic. Loosen the top screws on your cargo netting. Cut the netting ends to allow you pull out the original elastic. Cut a length of new elastic, attach to the old with a safety pin and pull the new elastic in and you pull the old elastic out. Replace the screws and you're done! Every Mariah gets saggy netting! |
Re: New Member
Paul,
Thanks for the tip. I will do this and it makes it look nicer |

You can take a look at the Member Map to see if there are any members pinned in your area. Also, take a minute to pin yourself while you're there. |

Re: New Member
We are new owners too, but have not taken final delivery yet. The dealer called to schedule the sea trial for tomorrow, but its 38 degrees in Racine WI right now, not a great weekend for Lake Michigan. We live close to Chicago in Belvidere and boat at Reefpoint. We have a Sea Ray also, on E-7, so you all stop by if you get to our area. If we ever get the sea trial done, I will post some pictures.

Re: New Member
Well I got her in the water and ran her on Good Friday. It was 38 degrees but she ran great. Got the boat all cleaned up yesterday and we are heading to the Ozarks on Thursday morning. I will post pics once I get it in the water down there.
