How old is my boat ?
 

I have a Z202 that was sold to me as a 2000 model. When I went to register it with the state, they told me it was a 99 model. They based this on the fact that the last two numbers if the serial number are 99. Does anyone know if this is always the case ?

I am not sure if accurate but I remember reading boat dealers can market a new boat as the next year if in inventory. Yours probably manufactured in 1999 but sold in 2000. I read it I think at Discover Boating - Information, Destinations, Boat Finder & More - Seemed odd if allowable but never know. I would say the condition of the boat out weighs the how new it is on paper. (looked and couldn't find where I read this)

I suspect that this is what happened. I not only have a bill of sale that shows it as a 2000 but all of the tag receipts (3) in the glove box shows it also. In addition to that, I have a release from the loan co. that states that it is a 2000.
