Drivers Seat back cracked

Hi all, I am a first time boat owner and chose the Z210 Talari Ruby red. I am picking the boat up this week. One issue that I need to address is that the drivers seat back is cracked at the base toward the back. It rocks back and forth like a rocking chair. My question is, is there a relacement for this seat back as that it is a plastic or fiber glass material? Any help is duely appreciated. Frank.

I'm new to my Mariah as well...but from what I can imagine there isn't much in the way of a "factory" replacement. You might have to look into some sort of "universal" seat. Check Overton's or something similar for those options. You could try and have it repaired, fiberglass isn't hard to work with, but sanding and finishing it will require some work. If it must be replaced, I would recommend the bolster style seat with the drop-down bottom. Very pricey, but I like them WAY more than the low seats in my Mariah. Or if you want to buy mine so I could buy bolster seats...we could possibly work that out!

I love the captain's bucket-style sears in our '94 182 Barchetta! Fit me like a glove. The only problem I have is that, with my height, my eyes are just about level with the aluminum frame of the windscreen, so I either have to constantly "work" to sit up very straight or I have to slump a bit. I saw in another thread where somebody'd retrofitted their stock Mariah seats with height-adjustable pedestals. I may have to look into that. It would be nice to be able to raise the Captain's position about two inches above normal for regular operation, then be able to drop it by about two inches below normal for when the convertible top is up.

Your seats are probable adjustable u hav to loosen the seat take it off. there is a pipe that the seat sits on the pipe can be adjusted up or down that is what the bottom handlel on the pedestal is for to thighten or loosen

no replacements are available except every once in a while you might see one on e-bay. I would suggest finding a fibreglass autobody repair specialist in your area & seeing if they can repair the seatback for you.

On the subject of the adjustable height seat pedestals i too found the height of the factory seat posts to be annoying. Looked on ebay and found a pair of adjustable pedestals new from a Lund manufacturer and checked into the bolt patterns and sizing. As with most marine hardware there seems to be only a limited number of different vendors out there and the pedestals were a perfect match for the oem Mariah seats. Only had to drill some new holes in the floor (yikes) but only after careful inspection and checking to make sure that first the aluminium backing plate did not fall off when i removed the oem pedestal and second that the new bolt holes would line up with the plate. Ok on both accounts. i have had my 202 since new in '98 and after i installed the adjustable height pedestal i've been kicking myself for not doing it sooner. i can now raise the seat to get my eyes above the windshield frame or lower it well below for cooler days or when i have the top up.

Would like to see pics of this install. Also a part number would be great!

Sorry to have hijacked the original thread......
I bought my pedestals off ebay a couple of years ago but i see that the seller i orignally bought the adjustable pedestals from has what look like the same units still online. They are located here:
The ones i bought came with the swivel so i'm not sure about the mariah oen swivel fitting on the top of the pedestal - you will have to check those dimensions.
I remember his description was detailed enough that i was able to remove my existing seat and check for the required depth below the seat base for the clearance for the post to retract within as well as the base plate bolt pattern.
After emailing back and forth with the vendor he directed me to Springfield's product web site and i think i ended up with this unit:
i'll check my installation tonight to see if these are the same units as well as snap a few pics as well if you want. I think on my install i had to drill the centre 3" hole in the deck and aluminium mounting plate (gulp) but once that was done the rest was stress free and easy as the oem mounting bolts lined up with the new pedestal.
By the way if anyone is looking for the original seat pedestals (non adjustable) i have a set out of a '98 202 Shabah sitting around.

I have an extra seat back for my 95 Talari.

When I bought the boat, the dealer didn't like the the look of the vinyl look on the passenger seat. He said it was a little rough so he replaced the seat back. I still can't see what was wrong with it.

When he stopped carrying Mariahs a few years later, he gave me the seat back as a spare.
