Re: priming carb all the time
Okay, I've never looked closely, because, thankfully, I've yet had a need to, but I seem to recall seeing conversation here describing the fuel pump on the 4.3L V6 MerCruiser as looking like little more than an in-line filter with an electrical connection on it.
And lo and behold: Here's one of the first things Google turned-up when I entered "MerCruiser 4.3L fuel pump": Fuel Pump, Mercruiser 4.3L 92 Thru 96. Jim |
Re: priming carb all the time
your right i found what i thought was the inline filter was in fact the pump. I could not see the wires that were behind it. i have ordered a new pump and will be removing the "redneck" bulb some one put on it. I will report back after i get her back on the water witha new pump and fliter. by the way i found the pump for 148 at wholesalemarine.com instead of 400+ shown in other places....

Re: priming carb all the time
That Mercruiser 4.3 should have an electric fuel pump.
Mine does and it is powered when you turn the key to the first position before you crank the motor. |
