Re: My boats actual name?
It sounds like she's a Z190 Shabah, just like our 182 Barchetta is a 182 Barchetta. The "Z" indicates all the bells & whistles.

Re: My boats actual name?
absolutely nothing, I just thought Shabah was like a certain edition of barchetta,diablo,etc.. like a packge that you could order in addition to the Z190 kind a like cutlass or cutlass supreme if you get my drift. Thanks for the info

Re: My boats actual name?
I'm right there with you, I wasn't sure about my boat either at first. I didn't realize the number of the boat designated the length. So my 180 Diablo would be 18'? I actually thought it was 18.5'... then again... i'm not really sure how they measure the length of a boat. Is it end to end? or do they count the outdrive or swim platform (if factory like the newer mariah's) into the length?
Thanks, Nick |
Re: My boats actual name?
My title says length is 18ft. 10 in. but is a Z 190 meaning 19 ft. I guess they round it off. Not sure how they measure to determine length.

Re: My boats actual name?
You know, you really can't go by the number......for example, check out the promotional material section of our club site. The 1998 catalog lists a "183" Shabah and a "182" Shabah. Both measure 18.0 ft, but the 183 is a closed foredeck and the 182 is a bow rider. It's not like a 182 is 18'2" and the 183 is 18'3". I recall a post from a club member who was actually a Mariah employee. He said that the numbers and model names were always changing, and didn't have a set pattern.

Re: My boats actual name?
Different manufacturers measure different ways, from what I've read. Maybe someone on here will know how Mariah did it. It's somewhere in the vicinity of from bow to stern though. For fishing tournaments they measure at the water line.
It does not count swim platforms or stern drives. My 19'er is just over 23' overall, with her leg up. |
