Which models were made in 2001? base-top of the line?

I was curious where my boat falls in line with the 2001 models. I'm assuming my boat is an entry level 2001 model, although it seems very well equipped compared to similar boats.

I have a Mariah 180 Diablo with prestige surge brake trailer that is painted to match with chrome 15" rims.

What models were produced, and how many this year? Did my model have additional options or come equipped just as it is? I wasn't sure if a larger motor was available or just the Merc. 3.0L

Where could I find a sales brochure for the 2001 line up?

Did Mariah ever make any commercials? or informercials?

Did they have an accessories book?

Thanks for the help, just curious. I don't have any of my original paperwork yet... but should have it in a few days when the PO gets back in town. Supposedly he has the manual, sales slips, maintenance records, and other literature the dealer would have had at the time. I'm not sure what all I will get when I pick it up.. kind of a mystery at the moment.

Thanks again,
Nicholas

You're correct, the Diablo was the entry level Mariah boat. They came "As-Is" with no option packages. One of the most notable things is the absence of the mid-ship cleat. All of Mariah's boats came with 3 cleats per side of the boat, except the Diablo. However it still had some features other manufacturer's boats didn't. Mariah's slogan was "Equipped like no other boat in the world".

We have the owners manuals, sales brochures, and accessory catalog available for download in the contributors section. Click the "Donate" button for more info. We also have some Mariah videos that will be uploaded to the site shortly as well.

Thanks,

I will try and sign up for a paypal account this week and check out the different stuff you have. I will also be picking up all the original literature that the PO received when he was looking, and when he purchased the Diablo.

I wish my boat had a cleat mid ship... the boat needs one so that you can tie a bumper to it.. any idea what most guys do? I always worry about scratching the hull when docking (granted I don't intend on keeping it tied to any one dock for long). One of my father in-law's friends suggested I buy some type of clip that would allow me to hang the bumper from the window frame down to the side? This seemed like a bad idea to me.. last thing I want to do is place any strain on the window or frame, seeing how impossible it is to locate these parts.

Thanks again,
Nicholas

p.s. did they offer any type of swim platform for the Diablo? Aftermarket or Mariah? My wife seems to think she'd like one because my cousins Chris Craft has one. I'm worried it'll be a nuisance.

I have used the bumper clips on my windshield frame, and they're fine. Nothing to worry about there.

No, extended swim platforms were not offered on any of the Mariah boats until Sea Fox purchased them. ('03-present). Many of our members have purchased extended swim platforms from "Swimplatforms.com", and I believe they're even the OEM manufacturer for Sea Fox Mariah's swim platforms. Do a search for "swimplatforms.com" and you'll find all sorts of info here!

Thanks for all the help !!! I will do some research on the swim platforms for my wife and look into buying some of the clips to hang my fenders/bumpers... whatever the proper boating term is lol, from. I also lucked out in a recycling meeting today.I work for the largest recycler in the state of Ohio and we met with a product company that just happens to make fenders, buoyies, and other products for the marine industry. I believe they are going to give me some "sample" products to try out.

I'm pretty excited, my overtons catalog came today while I was at work, so i'm going to make a wish list from it. Any idea if anyone else has a similar catalog for boating stuff?

Thanks again,
Nick

p.s Do you need any additional literature etc. for the 2001 model boats? I'm not sure what all I will be receiving tomorrow from the PO, but if any of it is helpful to the forum I would be more than happy to scan it.

My Talari didn't have the 3rd cleat. Thanks to Overton's, that problem was easily solved!

I just got my overtons catalog today... if Santa were to bring me everything I circled, folded over pages for, or highlighted the reindeer would die from exhaustion.

I'm thinking of adding a center cleat as well... i'm just nervous about doing any type of drilling. When you added yours did you put any type of reinforcement on the backside of the fiberglass? I know when I added sponsons to my seadoo I purchased a piece of composite board and placed it on the inside of the hull. It was probably overkill for something that didn't bare any weight.

My 96' Z212 does not have a mid-ship cleat. I thought it was strange that it didnt.

Hmmm... wonder why they didn't include the center cleat on your boat as well? I could understand since mine is the baby mariah of the group.. perhaps the guy responsible for installing the side cleats was fired that day ;)
