My previous boat was a 3.0L Sea Ray. I never put more than 20 gal. in it. Now a fill up is 76! Keep that 3.0L as long as you can.

I really considered that too. I think that will work just fine, but know the housing is much thicker then it looks.

I agree, my last boat had the 3.0. We would go to the lake for 10 days, and only go through the 23 gallon tank plus 2 5 gallon gas cans. total of 33 gallons for 10 days. you can't beat that. Now with the 200 shabah with a V6, I'm using at least double that, and possibly more. We took it out 2 weeks ago for a 4 day weekend, and burned through 51 gallons, made me miss that 3.0. Another thing I swear that 3.0 had more low end grunt out of the hole than the 4.3 V6. Granted it was a 17 footer with a dry weight of 1750, and now I'm in a 20 footer with a dry weight of 2550. I guess the bigger the boat, the bigger the hurt at the gas pump.

I know. We went as far as welding together are own thin wrench but still couldn't turn the stupid nut...

Our Mariah has a brand new 5.7l 350. Nice motor, does great with 5 people, but not so great with 9. we had 9 in her this weekend and she dogged like never before, I was surprised...
