Mounting Trolling Motor

I would like to mount a Minn Kota Power Drive trolling motor on the bow of my '95 180 Talari. However, I don't have access to the underside of the fiberglass to allow for bolting through and through. Any ideas on how to mount the motor without access to the underside of the bow?

Thanks,

Carl

Buy a Bayliner for fishing and keep the Mariah for FUN.

Had a Bayliner and did just that. Didn't mind drilling holes in that boat. Trust me, I am having a hard time deciding whether or not to do this. I hate to mess up the good looks of the boat!

Hi, I have a 1992 Shabah that I built a platform out of 3/4 inch treated plywood, used deck screws and attached two side by side 2x6's that stuck up past the top of the boat. Then used a 2x6 that extended out over the front of the boat, drilled out a hole for the light and used outdoor carpet to cover the platform and painted the rest white. Mounted my trolling plate and moter to that. Worked very nice, look good, and best of all, I didnt't have to buy a stupid Bayliner for any reason. The set up is a little heavey so get a friend to help you set it in place. Oh, I also mounted a pedestol style fishing seat and stored my batts. under the platform (feet area when setting up frount.) The carpet did a nice job of protecting the boat from any bumps and bangs. Any ?s just let me know.
